Push Installation - E-mail success Notification

Has anyone been able to use the e-mail notification on a push installation to external e-mail? We are trying to automate push installation on terminal server and I need to be notified if it was successful. JDE Work Center mail is not sufficient as I understand the e-mail receiving user needs to be signed on.
