E9.2 Change Requested Date after shipment is approved

Does anyone have a document that states at what status a sales order dates cannot be changed?
I have a user in the shipping department that is insisting that they should be able to change the Requested Date on a sales order after the shipment is approved. They have been told that this is not how JDE is designed, but they continue to push back.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

There is no hard and fast rule here. What we do know is that changing the Requested Date via the Sales Order programs will take those Order lines with their Requested Date (or Time changed) OFF their existing Shipment (regardless of the Shipment Status). This may result in the original Shipment being changed to a cancelled status (if all lines changed) and will always result in changed Order lines being placed onto a new/different Shipment - this can vary based on Consolidation options. https://support.oracle.com/epmos/fa...afrWindowMode=0&_adf.ctrl-state=q1jxx0vy7_364

The concept of being Approved by Transport is that the Shipment is now being/been included in transport plans and therefore decisions may have been made about its delivery that the Customer or Sales Order users may not be aware of. To support this JDE allows you to also change the Order Status of the lines on the Approved Shipment and then restrict who can change Sales Orders lines on Approved Shipments to ensure that the impact of any subsequent changes to the Sales Orders is taken into account in Transport (e.g. Contact Carrier/Driver or Warehouse to advise of change)

I am a little surprised that the Shipping Department wants to change the Requested Date, they obviously may have needs to change the Promised Delivery & Ship dates, due to lots of different shipping reasons ;). But the Requested Date is normally more in the realm of a Customer requested change to the Order and when that happens the shipment related to that order needs to be re-looked at and re-approved by Transportation. JDE does that by putting it on a new Shipment.
Note: Transportation users can change the Promised Delivery and Promised Ship Date against the Shipment or Load without cancelling the Shipment using Shipment/Load maintenance applications. These apps cannot change the Requested Date.

Hope this makes sense and helps provide a different way of looking at this for your user.
