Vocabulary Overriides

Hello everyone,
Sorry I resend my email because there was a confusion in the email address
of the list.

I would like to ask how can I get the VO of an object through packaging.
In the packaging procedure, in the section that I select the languages
should I pick the language the VO have been done and as well the domestic
language?
Have anyone meet problems after having done VO in an application?
We encounter problems ( If someone has problems in VO as well I could
mention our problem in detail ) and I wonder If we did something wrong in
the VO's procedure.

Hi Maria,

First of all, you are welcome aboard!

Although I am not a CNC guy bu as far as I know you have always to select the Domestic (blank Language Code) and if you use other Language(s) then the Code(s) of that too.

On the other hand, would be useful if you provide us with a bit more information:

1.) What is your system configuration? This is always very relevant!
2.) What kind of package have you built (e.g. Product/Deploy, Server/Client, Update/Full, etc.)?
3.) What kind of object type do you have the problem with?
4.) A bit more information about your problem.

Hello again,

Thank you for the wellcoming.

The configuration is: Windows NT/ SQL 7/OW XE Update 3 SP16.1
I built update packages for client in order to make an ASU.
We Install the Asu to the client.
When we run an application (the User profile has language GR 'Greek')
we see the columns twice or the column titles can not be recognized as they
appear in 'Chinese' (no offence).
A suggestion might help.

Thank you in Advance

Re: RE: Vocabulary Overriides

Hello Maria,

First some new questions:
1.) What does it mean "we see the columns twice"? The column or the column titles?
2.) Do you have problem only with column/titles or with other too like static and control texts, form titles, menubar exits, etc.?
3.) Does the problem occur in all applications or just in some? In the second case what is the different between the problematical and non-problematical applications?

Hint: First check your fontsettings for your GR Language Code using the P98980 "Font Override by Languages" applications. Mainly check contents of the "Script:" field on the revision form pressing the Font button for each setting.

I remember, once upon a time I modified this application making possible to edit the Font ID and making possible to set all three parameter for the three font settings. One of the reason was that selecting the Font ID there wasn't possible to append " CE" after the font name for the "Central European" set (e.g. entering "Arial CE" instead of only "Arial"). Unfortunately I do not remember what were those releases and/or ESU/UPDATE level. Sorry.

Read you later,

Hi Maria

I assume you are trying to ship multiple languages via Product Packaging.

There was a time when Product Packaging didn't support languages other than English. This was a restriction in B7332, but I don't know whether this is still the case in XE.

Maybe someone else out there knows...

Kind regards
Terry
