UBE versions and release token in Xe

Hi:

If it's true that an end-user when create a UBE version, takes the "Token",
how can they automaticaly release the "Token" without having to use the
Object Management Workbench ??

Since OMW is a developper tool, it's not admisible for end-users to enter in
the OMW to release the token.

Thanks

It is a good issue.
Unfortunately I do not know other way then using OMW.
I can imagine two scenarios:

1.) Create User Role for end users with hard restrictions, allowing for them the minimally necessary actions in OMW and make a little course for them how to accomplish their tasks in OMW.

2.) Add an administrator to all end user's Default Project with User Role which makes this administrator able to release tokens.

As I see in XE, the normal way to create versions is not the Batch and Interactive Versions applications but using the ADD in OMW and selecting UBE/APPL version.

still learning about OMW, but can't you set up an Activity Rule that releases the token when the version is checked in?

I have the same problem at a client. Even worst. If the user forgets to
check-in the version, you as an administrator, can not check-in the version
for him (or maybe there is a way but haven't figure it out). If there is a
way for me to check-in the versions, can some one tell me. This client uses
3 WTS Servers. The users, almost never get the some WTS server.

Thanks

John,
Activity Rules are tied to Advance Project Status action, closer a From Status - To Status action, so there is no way to create Activity Rules to release the token at Version Checkin.
I can imagine one way:
1.) Examine, how OMW release the token for versions (using FDA for OMW Appl).
2.) Modify the Check In Version action (in Batch Versions and in OMW Appl) to release the token the same way after a succesful Check In.

Let me know when did it somebody with success. Thanks.
Good Luck,
