Safety Stocks / WorkFlow

Hi,

We would like to 1) put on-hold some inventory items when they reach a
certain level of stocks.
2) bar sales orders from getting processed
automatically but with approval by someone these orders
are allowed to go through.
3) notify certain users if an item has reached
this safety level - sort like alerting the purchaser.

What can be done and how do we go about setting it up ? Any idea ??

Need more information.......

1. Are these inventory items being built to stock or are these items
purchased RAW materials?
2. Attaching an Approval Routing to either the O.P. or W.O. could give
"certain users" notification before actioning.

Hi,

These inventory items are finished goods (we are in the distribution biz),
not using the manufacturing module. Do you setup approval routing based on
stock level or any stock related in SOP. ie SO & ST order types ?

I need some guidance on how to setup and test it. Do you know if it works
fine on the release we are on - B7322 ?
Are there any guides as I could not find any from our on-line manual ?
