RMA Receipt & AAI Error

We are testing Xe and are having a problem with RMA receipts. We get an AAI error when we process receipt entry. Everything is set up the same as in B7332. The receipt document type = "OV" for P4312. The AAI's are setup for this document type. We added an AAI for document type "OM" and it worked. Why? The "OV" is written to the Cardex so why is the system looking for an "OM" AAI. Has there been a change in processing, B7332 to Xe? JDE no help. We can create AAI's for the "OM" doc type but are just trying to understand why we need to. TIA

Hi!
If you look at the processing options behind the RMA (P40051) you will
see that there is a version for the PO entry program (P4310 version
ZJDE0014 for base JDE). This will tell the system what type of PO to
generate and after that it behaves in pretty much the same way as a
standard PO. In the PO version ZJDE0014 it is set to document type OM
and so the DMAAI's will need to be set up for this document type for the
companies that require it. The OV document type is the "receipt"
transaction for inventory and as such will not impact the financial
side.

I hope this helps to clarify things a bit!

Best regards

I hope my reply can help a bit. We don't use RMA but with purchasing in the AAIs one has to set PO as documenttype and the system will write in the F4111 - Cardex OV. The reason why is, for as far I understand the system, to give you a maximum flexibility in your AAI setup. Different documenttypes can generate different Accounting Results but in the Cardex the receipt is always shown as OV and will also show the documenttype it is coming from. Another example I think of are Transfertorders where an OT will create an OV record in the Cardex but a total different accounting perspective in the AAIs.

Hope my reply helps, allthough I believe there are much more experienced JDE Users on this list. I do hope they correct me if I am wrong.

Good luck.
