Processing Options and Scheduled UBE\'s

Does anyone have experience or is familiar with a method of passing processing options in a UBE for a scheduled job?

For example...if invoicing (R42565) is a scheduled job (AS/400 Scheduler - not P91300) and the job is submitted at 9:00 p.m., with P.O. # 1 on the print tab set to blank, the "system date" will be used to print the invoice.

If the R42565 is run at 1:00 a.m., the same holds true, however the only way to change the invoice date to the previous day is by manually changing P.O. # 1 on the print tab from blank to the required invoice date.

Is there a way of running a UBE (ie. R42565) as a scheduled job and pass a processing option without manual intervention?

Re: Processing Options and Scheduled UBE\'s

Roadking,
I guess it may be possible - you just schedule running two different UBE versions:
1- first R42565|VER01 with PO#1 blank,
2- the second - a scheduled UBE version R55LAUNCHER1|VER001, that:
a) reads the current date,
b) uses a BSFN that updates PO#1 for R42565|VER02 with the_just_determined_date, and, finally
c) launches R42565|VER02
Warm regards,

Re: Processing Options and Scheduled UBE\'s

Tidal Software offers a job scheduler that is integrated with JDE. They claim that by using the RUNUBEXML.EXE program they can pass dynamically created processing options and data selection.

If Tidal's product is too pricy, you might want to explore RUNUBEXML.EXE.

If your considering using Tidal, then I would suggest that you complete a very comprehesive in-house evaluation prior to buying it.

We are planning to prototype our requirements and check references before purchasing.

It sounds like you have had experience with this product. If so, please share.
