OPTIM and/or partitioning

Does anyone out there have princeton softech's optim archive tool (now IBM) installed and use Oracle partitioning?

Optim will be installed over the next few months but our DBA would still like to partition the data that is left (current and prior year).

I can remember a post from a few years back where a number of replies said not to partition JDE?

Any comments regarding optim and it's use with partitioning would be much appreciated.

Many thanks to those who sent me PM's regarding OPTIM, some very interesting comments.

Regarding the second part of my question, do any of you partition your JDE database? We have been working with everyone's favourite table, the F0911, and so far the queries take longer with partitioning.

We will soon be archiving data so partitioning may be dropped - but we have seen massive performance benefits with so many other database systems.

I just wanted to hear if other companies were partitioning.
