OMW - News/Status tab : machine on checkout info has been replaced

In OMW we have some objects with a status 'checked out' which have been checked out on a PC which does not exist anymore. We want however to delete these objects but the system refuses this because the machine name within the News/Status tab is different than the machine name on which we want to do the delete. Is there any possibility to achieve this removal of objects without having to install another PC with the original machine name ?

Find out what project(s) the object is in. You may have to look at the F98222 with the UTB. Have your CNC person remove the object from all open projects and you should be all set.

DON't REMOVE object from project BEFORE erasing its check-out status.
- Firstly find the project where the object is checked-out
- Secondly erase the check-out
- Finally you may delete the object, from ALL locations, if you want so.
Warm regards,

Hi,

Just an addition:

If the object had been at least once promoted to other Path Code(s) (e.g. PY, PD from DV), then Remove From ALL Location won't be delete it from all Path Code(s), just for locally and from the path code, which is denoted by Activity Rules under the current project status.

To delete it from all Path Code(s), you have to promote the project(e.g. 21 > 26 > 28 > 38). The best way to do it, to move the object to a separate project.

While you haven't delete the object from all Path Code, its entry will remain in some OMW tables (and its spec also).

Tell the truth, I have never delete object though Path Codes.

Zoltán

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the reply.

As long as the machine name where the object was checked out is not the same as the one you are working on, the system refuses to erase the checkout.
Anyway, we have setup a PC with a machine name equal to the machine name on which the objects were checked out and could then delete the objects.

Kind regards,
Marc
