Is there a way to prevent increase/decrease messages for items using an Order Policy of Lot for Lot and create a message for a new purchase order if the due date is immediate. What is happening is that I have a past due purchase order, then safety stock was depleted and I received 3 messages. One that the order was past due, another to defer the requested date to today's date and a third to increase the quantity to cover the safety stock replenishment. Ideally I would have liked to see a new message for the safety stock since the exsisting po is more then likely in route and it is too late to increase the quantity.

Try Freezing the PO if this is the case. There is also a Freeze Fence but this may not help you. The Freeze Fence is defined at Item/Branch Level.

How would you freeze a purchase order?

There is a flag on the PO line detail. Set it to Y. I believe that it is in the grid and additional information.
