8.11 Install

Hi List,

While trying to install 8.11 on Sun Box the installation hung after populating the databases . The screen showed configuring user profiles but never went further ahead.

Hence i did a uninstall of the software using the uninstall exe provided.

However now when i try to reinstall the software again (only the platform Pack)i was able t do it successfully. Even the tablespaces and users created have been removed

I can now successfully install the EO cmponents . However when i selct a DB component( system to be specific) it states it has detected system database to be present and the location i have now entered is incorrect .

However the location given is the same both before and after the uninstall.

I am unable to figure from where this information is being cached ....

Any suggestion how i can go ahead.

When you did the uninstall, did it completely get rid of the MSDE databases located on the server?

I unistalled only the platform pack.

Anyways i went for complete reconfiguration of Oracle and its now done.
