Fat Client Installation

I am trying to install JDE on a Win2K fat client. I go through control panel and use Add New Programs under Add/Remove Programs. I get a message during the installation that the workstation is not licensed, click OK and later during the installation, I get a message stating that the license was not configured for this workstation. When I try to launch JDE, I get a message You Are Not Licensed to execute this application. Please contact JDE...

Any ideas? I know we have several unused licenses, but for some reason the installation appears not to be allocating one for this workstation.

TIA

Piano :

a) Check that the domain user you're using to install the workstation has
'Change' rights on \\deployment\b7333\client folder. License files are
stored there.
b) Check that workstation name is between 3 and 10 characters.

Hi Tia,

How many licenses of JD Edwards do you have and how many still remain? Go to the security menu, there is an options to see the number of licenses you have.

Charles,

check if you have read/write acess to \\DS\b7333\client\jdeclnt.ddc/xdc
files (they may be hidden files).

(a) was to answer to this particular problem. Thanks, Sebastian.

Hi TIA,

I am new in this neighborhood but I install the fat client in Win2k as follow:

* Connect to a drive the \\deploy\b7333 shared folder
* Go to created drive
* Go to "OneWorld Client Install" folder
* run setup

I do never go to de Add/Remove programs in Win2k or windows version.

Let me know if it work, as well if not and how do you solve it.
