AIX DB Server w/ HP App Server Performance/Issues?

We are in planning stages of moving our database server from HP-UX to AIX. We will continue to run JDE (SP23) on HP-UX, and will be running Oracle (10g) on AIX. Is anyone running with this configuration? What kind of performance are you seeing? Are there any "gotcha's" we need to be aware of? We will eventually migrate everything over to AIX, but in the interim will run in the mixed environment.

The database server, in your instance, is a service.

As far as JDE is concerned - there is no difference. Doesn't care if its an HP UX box, and AIX box or a Windows box - as long as the database server is designed correctly, it should perform (note, disk performance is critical on all database servers).

The only issue I would have is everything else non-JDE. In your implementation, there are so many different non-JDE pieces that fit against the database server, you HAVE to ensure that everything is configured correctly and that all the HP-UX specific "stuff" is recompiled under AIX if necessary.

But, no, because you're using OCI, if it "reaches out" through OCI and communicates to the database - then it doesn't care what platform that database is sitting on.

Call me if you need any clarification...
