CNC Staffing Estimator?

Hey there!

Anyone have a tool to estimate the number of CNC folks needed based on implementation factors like number of users, sites, uptime... etc?

Thanks!
Tom

Hi Tom

Yes - I can help you with this if you wish - Please email me directly for a Microsoft Project Plan (98 format) - this works only for my customers and I'd rather not distribute this to other JDE or Business Partners that might quote differently for their projects. (Customers please feel free to email me for a copy).

The following is a high-level set of CNC timescales that I use to quote for a customers implementation.

Obviously, there are tasks beyond this list that are affected by items outside of the standard project scope.

Pre-Installation Technology IPS/PSW - 2 days onsite, 3 days documentation

Initial CNC Training (Internal Staff) - 10 days

Initial Installation (Non-AS400 Coexistence) - 10 days
Initial Installation (AS400 Coexistence) - 15 days
CNC Configuration and Setup - 5 days
Citrix implementation tasks - 3 days
QA Performance Testing - 2 days
QA Environment Build - 5 days
Automated Stress Test - 5 days
Pre-production tasks - 15 days
Additional tasks - 5 days

Total = 60 to 65 days

1 day = 8 hours

Additional scope would include but not be restricted to :

Standard Upgrade (15 days usually)
Major ASU (5 days)
ESU (1/2 day-1 day depending on size)
Full Package Build and Deployment (1 day)
Update Package and Deployment (depending on size)
Additional Application Server (5 days)
Initial JAS Server (10 days)
Additional JAS Server (5 days)
Technical Audit and Documentation (5-10 days)
Deployment Server rebuild (2-3 days)

Certain CNC Tasks that cannot be accurately identified (because of the differences between each case) include :
Retrofit (such as a Major Upgrade with modifications)
Replication (database to database server)
Database Migration (to another platform for example)
Interfaces (Batch, EDI, XPi, MQ Series, xmlCallObject etc etc)

Hey Jon,

Can you send me the Microsoft Project Plan.

Thanks
