It's basically all the same thing. JDE calls it JAS. Websphere is the
Java Application Server (JAS) that runs the whole show. Under JAS you
can run the HTML client or the Java Client although I think they are
phasing out the Java client and most people are going to HTML.

I have a stupid question. Is JAS an alternative to Websphere. We are
going to start looking into HTML client and I want to start reading the
JDE manuals. I'm just not sure which ones to read.Patty
