Hi list,
We are planning on upgrading the OS400 V4R4 to V5R5 next weekend November
24th, and wondering if anyone has any headsup that we should be aware of.
Questions :
Did you have any issues with the Web Client?
Any issues with the Fat Client?
Did you download the latest AS400JDBC Driver.
Were all your ini files changed to point to V5R1 or to Current
Should i delete the SQL packages on the AS400 prior to upgrading?
Since we are coexisting , any heads up on the Triggers?
Any problems with the QZASOINIT?

Thank You All in advance, and Thank You for all the shared knowledge.

Hi Darquise,
I don't think the others were much of an issue. I do see where SI01815 ptf
needed to be installed in one so you might want to see about that one.. an
IBM PTF. I seen another IBM PTF needed on one.. MF26909. Another person
had a problem with *SQLPKGS so you might want to make sure you delete all of
those after going live. Be sure to end services prior to deleting them. I
automated that and delete mine once a month on the weekend. Anyway, look up
those IBM PTFs and see if you have them or if you need them...

good luck! Let me know how it goes!!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone on the list!!!!

When you're deleting SQL packages, don't delete the ones that begin with a "Q" or "_" because they are IBM packages.

Look at APAR II12878 from IBM as well.

Please let us know how it went.

We have upgraded from V4R4 to V5R1.

Encountered a small problem and IBM object QBFCPRCED was not found when we started the OneWorld services on the AS400. WE added this object in library B7333SYS and problem was resolved.
All of our physical file trigger program were modified to soft code the offset, which saved us alot of headaches.

Overall wer are quite pleased.

We are on Xe SP16.1 and World is at A73Cum11/X3
