Subtotals in World Writer

Hello,

I am trying to get a world writer report - flat file - with subtotals. The manual says it only supports them for printed files. Is there a work around for this?

Bill, one workaround would be to process the spooled report (that you have the detail, subtotals, and grand totals on) through a spool utility that enables you to extract total information from the pages.

The reason why World Writer outputs only detail, not summary info to data files is due to DB2 constraints on the database, i.e. Total lines are different from Detail lines

Hi Bill,

if you have access to OS/400 Query, it is possible to use this to output subtotals to a physical file.
