Statistics of used application.

Hello, list,
I want to know what applications my users use in order to assign the right
security settings and menus.
Is there a way of gathering statistics without bothering the users?
The simple way of asking is not completely IT way, isn't it? :)

Alex,

I see no one has posted a response to your question, so I will give you my
25% partial answer. You can see who is writing to what tables, via what
programs, by looking at the "Fxxxxx" tables and looking at USER user
identification field, and the PID program identification field. This will
not tell you who is looking up stuff just in read mode.

I also suggest you have an auditor or accountant or somebody figure out who
should have write access to what programs, thus what tables, and read access
to what programs, else you may have users writing to tables they should not
access. Example: Accounts Payable people should not receive goods with P4312
receiving program.
