Service pack 23 errors on Deploymeny server

Hi

We are upgrading our ERP8 to SP23.
The enterprise server (Sun Solaris 5.8) was upgraded clean.
But when running the setup.exe on the deployment server it gives an error message " You must perform this installation on a Primary deployment server". Checked Peoplesoft, found that the registry has invalid entries. Cleared the entries from regedir but still facing the same error.

We have decided to change the files on the depserver manually viz. System, SystemComp and OWClientinstall. Is the idea fine or do we need to take care of some more stuff?

Are you running the installation thru an RDP, WTS or Citrix
session?

yes Sebastian I am applying it through RDP.

Hi,

You should better run the install on the Deployment console
instead of using an RDP session.
On the other hand, you should run the SP setup with the
same user you installed JDE on the Deployment, SP setup
read both HKLM and HKCU registry entries.

Thanks for your response!!

The error was due to PCAnywhere running on the server. Killed the service of pCAnywhere and installed the SP23 from MSTSC successfully!!!
