sel/seq function

i tested out set user selection(item 2 only allow RV), set user seq(only BV column) and use data sel/seq from a section. all are like overriding sel/seq defined in section level and the third one is using sel/seq defined in other section.
may i know if any function can allow RV as data item instead of BV column for sequence or selection? sometimes i need RV to determine the sequence or selection.
besides, what is this check data sel/seq function?

Do you have an RV in your database???
I suggest using a workfile with your variables stored and run another section with the correct sequence.

It is impossible to sequence on an RV. If you really want to do that, you need to make use of a workfile in which you write all your records. Add the RV as a column in the workfile and make a new section which uses a BSVW on the workfile. Then you are able to sequence/break on the field you want to.
