Period Offsets

Does anyone know if there is a BSFN that will allow me to input a period number, fiscal year (as in F0008, not F0008B) and an offset period number (e.g. 12) and then return the new period number and fiscal year. I have been looking at the B8300001 - CalculatePeriodFiscalYearOffsets but am not sure how this works or if it is what I need.
