item exculsion during SO entry

Hi all,
I have a situation where we need to allow certain customers to buy a list of predefined items only, I need to create a hard error if the customer buys any item that he is not entitled to. We have tried mandatory pricing in 'ADVANCE PRICING'. This works except it allows to override the price and accepts the item if price is entered.

True, that is the one gap with using the Mandatory Adjustment method. Soon
to be fixed in B9 when there will be a way to keep type 4 and type 5
adjustments when a price is manually entered. The other ways to stop orders
when an item is entered are:

1. Use the Customer Billing Instructions Include/Exclude functionality.
Unfortunately, every item needs to be setup that is included, there is no
item group capability.
2. Use the Next Order Status preference to bump orders to an invalid status
when an undesireable combination of item/customer is entered into a sales
order.

Make another P4210 version and disable price fields (tab ‘Display’ option 2).

There is a flag in the address book customer setup to include/exclude part
numbers. This can be used to include only specific items or exclude
specific items. It is on a customer by customer basis. See if that will
help.

Did you try defining allowed or restricted items in the customer master.
