eGenerator

Hello List:

I am trying to run eGenerator for our Web Server and I am getting
'Unexpected Object (Generation). Any ideas on how to rectify this
situation?

How do I find the Port Number of the Web Server? To connect to it in
eGenerator, you must enter Server Name and Port Number.

Thanks,

Kevin

I have had that exact same problem when upgrading from JAS SP16.1 to 18.0.
I followed the JAS install guide but received that same message. It turned
out to be a missing servlet.

If you have upgraded from SP16.x or below to 18.1 then odds are this is your
problem.

Servlet Name = File
Servlet Class Name = com.ibm.servlet.engine.webapp.SimpleFileServlet
Servlet Web Path = /jde
Load at start up = True

See if that works for you.

Have you been able to generate objects before? You do not need to enter a
port number to connect to the e-generator.

I am getting these errors also. I tried adding the File servlet, but it did not work, any other ideas?

I've been working with Response Line, and haven't figured out yet what is
causing the error. I've been trying to go over all the steps in the Service
Packs to make sure nothing was missed. Kinda hit and miss so far.

Just out of curiosity....What do you use for your eGenerator? A powerful workstation or a server? Do you use it for anything else besides being your eGenerator?
Thanks.

Just to eliminate teh obvious - You are logging in to the java environment to generate aren't you e.g. JDV7333 - I know its not likely to be the problem but logging into dv7333 will give teh error described. Also check in jas.ini that the pathcode is listed in the [OWWEB] section

Re: RE: eGenerator

We bailed on our install. We are now completely SQL JDBC based. It works great. One thing to check is in the environment master. make sure the J environment you are logging into has the WAN CONFIGURED ENVIRONMENT checked.
