David, I have worked with ASN's (outbound) using Sterling software (formerly Gentran). We were able to both capture and generate inbound and outbound items. It required some data mapping to input into the JDE Z tables, but worked out very well. As for using lot numbers, the only restriction is the field size in the inbound table. You will also need to check your distribution constants to make sure lot processing is set correctly(duplicate check, no check) for your operations. This is crucial when processing inbound transactions.

I am interested in getting started with EDI, specifically to start with 856's (ASN) I was looking for input from people who might have done this. I need to use lot numbers as well. It's possible I am starting at the wrong place, (maybe I should be starting with p.o.'s, ) but I don't know lot numbers until I get the ASN, which is currently just faxed to me. I was looking for experience with vendors who know JDE, so I don't reinvent the wheel. I have also heard that maybe I should be doing receipts routing, but frankly I don't quite understand what I know about it.Thanks in advanceDavid BryantMaxco Supply, Inc.
