Does JDE World have an "approved" strategy to linking source documents (eg scan of an invoice) to JDE data?
Or what experience do users have with adhoc methods such as embedding document links into comments or descriptions?

JDE at current releases has an approved strategy to link source documents (eg scan of an invoice), embedding document links to JDE data.
e.g.
in P48013 (Manufacturing Work Orer Entry),
F8 key to P3112 routing revisions
Key 5 next to a line to invoke P0016A program
Key HTTP://SAMSON/DOCS/662862.PDF, the IFS folder where you have this pdf document.
Save.
Later, navigate to this video and double-click on this link to invoke your web browser and view the document.
In this example, the link HTTP://SAMSON/DOCS/662862.PDF
is stored in file F0016.
