CustomApp with close button to log you off

Anyone every created a custom app to be served up from a webserver (JAS) that when a close button is clicked it logs you off? If so do you mind sharing how you did the logging of.

In Case anyone want to know. We are calling OneWorld apps using javascript from a PlumTree portal. The correct way to logout when an application is close is to pass a returnURL paramter that points to the same url that is displayed when you click the Logoff link in the HTML client.
