Can\'t view UBE Output (pdf files) on ENT Server

Can anybody help me solve the following problem?
I can submit UBE's to the server from a Citrix server and it runs fine. I can find the output in the printqueue directory on the enterprise server. However, users cannot find/view their submitted jobs from either WSJ (work server jobs) or User Options/Submitted Jobs.

What could be the problem? Please help. Thanks!

Kent,

What error are you receiving? Do you have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on the Citrix Server?

Re: Can\'t view UBE Output (pdf files) on ENT Server

I'm not receiving any errors. Adobe is installed.
The UBE's are running fine. I can view them on the ENT server from the
PrintQueue directory, but users cannot view them when they go into
"submitted jobs".
Thanks, Kent

No clustering. However, I do have a two separate ENT servers: one for
production environments and the other for dev, test, and crp.

You on a cluster by any chance?

Re: Can\'t view UBE Output (pdf files) on ENT Server

Had this problem as well and found the solution. It is as follows:

This is due to a Business Function (B9861101) being categorized incorrectly
in Object Librarian as available for mapping in OCM to a datasource other
than LOCAL.

To resolve this issue, J.D. Edwards recommends adding an OCM Mapping entry
for business function B9861101 to the LOCAL datasource for all environments.

Are you using 'W' environments? If so you have to remap some of the business functions.
Specifically:
B9861100, B9861101, B9861102, B9861113, B9861114, B9861115, B9861116
All of these should be mapped to run locally. Log the user off and back in and they should then see their submitted jobs.

Re: Can\'t view UBE Output (pdf files) on ENT Server

I've already tried mapping that BSFN to run locally, but that hasn't fixed
it. I am not running "W" environments.
Thanks.

Re: Can\'t view UBE Output (pdf files) on ENT Server

Hi Kent,

Are you having this problem on every workstation or just on the Terminal
server? If' it's just on the Terminal server I had that problem too and
mapping the BSFN B9861101 to run locally fixed it for me.

I had this issue for all clients once and it turned out that file F986110
was mapped to run from SYS7333 (this one is empty) instead of SVM7333 where
the submitted jobs info was being stored. Check your OCM for that table.
Also UTB that table to see if the submitted job info is in fact being
stored.

Good luck!

Regards,
Gerald.

Re: Can\'t view UBE Output (pdf files) on ENT Server

Ensure that the name you gave the server(s) in
OneWorld is exactly what the actual name of the server
is, case-sensitive especially.

Check the database table, I think it is F986110, for
the prescence of records. A query like:

Select * FROM SVM7333.F986110

will show you if the jobs and their associated records
are actually being created- separate the problem into
its two parts, are the jobs there and you are not able
to list them or are the jobs not there at all?

Also, turn on debugging and see what select statement
is being generated when you do a Find within the
Submitted Jobs application. Compare that to what you
think you should get. That query will look something
like this:

SELECT JCJOBQUE, JCJOBPTY, JCJOBSTS, JCENHV, JCUSER,
JCJOBTYPE, JCSBMDATE, JCSBMTIME, JCJOBNBR, JCEXEHOST,
JCORGHOST, JCPROCESSID, JCACTDATE, JCACTTIME, JCFUNO,
JCPRTQ, JCFNDFUF2 FROM SVM7333.F986110 WHERE (
JCUSER = 'JDE' AND JCEXEHOST = 'SERVERNAME' ) ORDER
BY JCEXEHOST ASC,JCUSER ASC,JCJOBQUE ASC,JCJOBPTY
ASC,JCJOBSTS ASC

If JCEXEHOST is not *exactly* what you expect it to
be, something needs to be changed. I suspect that
this is a server naming issue.

I've been wrong before though.......

Kent,

Check your base data source in your jde.ini is pointing to the appropriate
data source & has
the appropriate owner.. This data source may be pointing to the Job Control
Master files...

Re: Can\'t view UBE Output (pdf files) on ENT Server

I have seen this a result of a diskspace/security issue.

1. Check diskspace on the C:\ of the Citrix server. Temp files are written here when the PDF is being downloaded from the enterprise server.

2. Check diskspace on the drive where the printqueue directory is mapped for the user. After the file is downloaded onto the C: drive of the terminal server it is then copied to the Printqueue directory.

RE: Can\'t view UBE Output (pdf files) on ENT Server

we had this problem too, check the c:\ drive space on the server that the
UBE was submitted to run on. Cleardown unwanted UBE's in the printqueue
folder if necessary.
