At present we have two systems. One written in Adabas Natural on a IBM Mainframe and then the other JDE on a AS400. We alrady have a "address book system" on the mainframe written in Adabas Natural of course. At this time once a month we are FTPing data accross to the AS400 and have a RPG program picking that data up and populating the Z-files and from there on JDE has control. This proves to be a very tedious process and is not the method we would like to follow in connection with keeping the two system address books in sync with each other.
At the moment the mainframe systems address book is accessed much more frequently than JDE address book due to the size of that system. JDE has only been used within the company for a little more that one year. We are now progressing further and require more interfacing. The first part of this is address book as this is a central part of JDE.
I am looking for ideas/methods in which we can do instant updates back on forth accross two system and databases and keep the data in sync with each other.
Any comments will be appreciated.
