8.12 WAS - Time out settings

We're going from Xe FAT/Citrix to 8.12 WEB. Users are not going to like that they can't leave for an hour and come back to where they lazily left off in the app.
I'd like to know what other's settings are.

What are your timeout settings for these two things;
1. Connection Timeout (how long a user can be idle before being kicked off the Web client)
2. Grid search timeout (how long the data in a grid will cache if the grid is not active)

If anyone is using IBM WebSphere Application Server and 8.11 or 8.12 please let me know what your timeouts are set to.

Hi,

Here are my usual timeouts

1. 20 to 40 minutes, varies across different sites
2. 3 to 10 minutes, also varies across different sites

The longer the timeout, the more memory and CPU the
Web server needs so there's a tradeoff between user
satisfaction and hardware cost.

Our timeout settings are set to 2 hrs for WAS and 2.5 hrs for IBM HTTP Server (IHS). The difference is because you want the user to timeout of the JAS server before the HTTP server.
