Re: Obscure Jobs on the AS400

These are prestart jobs for each ODBC connection from OneWorld to the
AS400. Each user who logs on usually needs 6 to 12 connections to the
AS400. Setting up the connections prior to users logging is good for
performance. They should be tuned to the number of users you have.
There is a good document on the KG under the GATS (Global Advanced
Technology Services) section titled "AS/400 Prestart Jobs for OneWorld"
which explains in detail what they are and how to tune to the number of
users.

stschatz,

These jobs are by no means obscure.

These are your ODBC connection handlers. For each Client Access or Client Access Express ODBC connection made by the OneWorld client software you will have an QZDASOINT job running.

Re: Obscure Jobs on the AS400

These jobs are your ODBC connections. In our shop we get from 4-8 of these
per OW client. If you are using ODBC outside of OW you could have
significantly more.

QZDASOINIT are?
