but when they logout ,they can't login again.i have check the status of the server, but i can't find anything wrong.i restart oneworld service, the problem disappear.it has appear for two times :3/11 and 3/27.
any another thing may be helpful:when i can't login ,i click the flashlight of the enveriment selection on the login windows,it popup a little boxwindow ask me to input id and password to connect to the ODBC connection.i input,it continue run and popup another boxwindows and me id and pwd of another ODBC connection.and then it goes on.it seems that every establish of the ODBC connection,it asked me the ID and password.but this way ,step by step ,i can login to the Oneworld.

Re: logout and can\'t login again

Bee,

I haven't seen this exact problem, but I have seen some very unusual things happen when using Client Access Express V5R1 on the client side. We were using V5R1 and were getting the ODBC username and password windows all of the time. Our solution (and JDE's) was to roll back to V4R4 (or V4R5) on the client side, and it took care of all of our communication issues. I know this may not address your particuar issue, but you may want to give it a try. Are you using fat clients or Citrix, JAS, etc? Good luck.

Re: logout and can\'t login again

Bee, I am not an AS400 specialist, but it almost seems as if you loose your kernal started by the JDENET_KERNEL_DEF4. This is why new users cannot login and also receive multiple prompts - they are not receiving information from P98OWSEC. Maybe the existing users do not experience a problem because they already have established QZDASOINIT threads on AS400.

Is there an AS/400 admin that may know?

Re: logout and can\'t login again

What service pack are you on. We just moved off of sp16 (The worst ever) SP17 is much better.

Anyways, I have seen this happen for variety of reasonings. Mainly has to do with your AS/400 CPU being way up.

Next time it happens you need to do the following.

1. Check you CPU on the 400. It it is running in the 90%, this will cause that problem.

2. Look for a runaway net job. They should not take a lot of CPU for a long period of time. Minute max. This is called a runaway kernel job. You can kill the job and it will re-create itself. This happened alot on SP16.

3. If you have developers on the same box, testing interactive reports and if it goes into a loop, they kill it, but you need to kill it on the 400 side. this takes up a lot of memory on your 400. If you look at wrksyssts, you will see what I am talking about.

Let me know if I can help more.

Everyone signed on will be okay, but anyone triing to signon cannot.

Re: logout and can\'t login again

thank you for your replies!
yes,i use client acesses v5r1.AND yes, this version is something wrong.i do think using v4r4 is better, especially for double byte language users.we have about 70 fat clients and some terminal server(by the way,is 70 fat clients too more? i think using terminal server
maybe better),all the fat clients are using v5r1 and the terminal server is v4r4.but when it happen, all can't login, include the v4r4.
i have the same thought as hunt, maybe our security kernal is stop working.i know how to kill that kernal, but i don't know how to restart it.i'll try to find out how to do it.
when that happen, our AS/400 is everything seems ok. the CPU is about 35%,but i dont pay any attention on our memory, our 400 has 6G memory, for less than 100 users,it should be ok.next time if it happend,i'll check it.and i'll check if our developers are testing some interactive reports.
our SP is 12,is it too low?if it is ,i'll try to SP to 17.
thank you .

Re: logout and can\'t login again

Have you checked the AS400 profile to make sure it's enabled?

good luck!

Re: logout and can\'t login again

You will find this user profile name in User Security under Security
Maintenance (down a ways on menu GH9011). You enter the user name, hit find
and to the right you will see System User, that's the profile that the AS400
is using.

on the AS400 you do on the command line

wrkusrprf xxxxxx (whatever it is)

Then you can take a 2 to change, look for STATUS, it should show *ENABLED.
If it says *DISABLED then change it and hit enter.
