Can not check out object through OMW after system restore to new i5 server

JDE was moved to our new i5 box by using system restore from system save on old 820 box. Next day we were unable to checkout objects through OMW. We would get a "General Check Out Method" error or a RDB error. End user that tried to check out version using batch version would get a security error. At the time of the restore the SQL packages were deleted.

Our system is shut down each night and SQL package are deleted at that time as well. But even after the second time of system IPL and SQL package deleted still having the same issue.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

XE SP23M2 AS/400 R5V4.

Well, the usual things to check first:

- Did you check the V5R4 APAR for all recommended PTFs (II14151)?
- Is the EDRSQL service on?
- Did you PORTTEST when you started JDE services?
- What are the logs telling you (PC and AS/400)?

Check the RDBDIRE, should match what the old system had. Also, check to see if you have corruption in the DBXREF, if so, you'll need to run a reorg with the DBXREF option. Very common during a restore like this. Since it's a new box, were iSeries Access levels changed? Perhaps you need to perform an update to the webdev clients. These are of course suggestions in addition to "what specifically does the log say?" and "did you get a successful porttest?" and the biggie "does the developer even know how to check out an object?"

Ken,

Thanks for your reply, we did find that journaling was not turn on for some files on the new box and that was causing our issue. We are in the process of correction that.
