WTS install ?

We have installed JDE B7333 Update 6 SP20 I1 JAS is installed and we are coexistent.
We did not elect to install WTS. To do this after the fact could we just create a 'W' environment, setup some OCM mappings based on our HTML OCM records in F986101 and review our INI files? We have a CITRIX server setup and ready to go. All we need is to perform the JDE client install to the Citrix server. We just are unsure of how JDE has to be set to run WTS. We are looking for some ideas. Has anyone had to do this before or can anyone offer some ideas? We did not do the actual install and are a bit nervous about doing a custom install to accomplish this, but are willing to try if that is what it takes. Any ideas?

Terry...

You can certainly add the "W" environments after the fact. You can add
it through an installation plan or create it "manually" through the
environment master.

Then you just install a fat client on the Citrix box via the ADD/REMOVE
programs applet.

This isn't really as bad as it may seem, especially if your "W"
environments are based on existing path codes.

Just remember to add the new environment to your PLANNER path code as
well, if you create the environment manually, so it is accessible during
upgrades/updates.

Hi,

I'm no expert, but this'll provide a starting point for you:

It is not required that you create the W environments. However, I understand that if you have an application server, it would be desirable.

You could install your client onto the WTS like you would a workstation except that you need to do it with the server in install mode. Just use Add/Remove programs and you will be all set. There are a couple of lines in the ini that need to be changed to function correctly:

[DEBUG]
WTSLogs=TRUE

[INTERACTIVE RUNTIME]
EXCEPTION_Enabled=False

When using the WTS, logs and a copy of the ini will be kept in the logged in profiles home directory.

Hi Doug,
What is the
Exception_enabled = false
for ?

Hi Dave,

This forces OneWorld to immediately exit when a run-time exception occurs. This will help prevent OEXPLORER.exe from getting hung up in the Task Manager.

Don't know if it has any affect on the SE.

Thanks Doug (and the list, of course !).
Nice to learn something new every day.
To Michigan List members: Any interest in getting together for a pop after work ? (non-US-Midwesterners: a pop is what you may call a soda, okay ?)
Best Regards,
Dave
