World security and Ledger Inquiry

Hi All

Could someone please offer some insite into the following.

We have set up Business Unit security based on the file F0901 so that users can only see their respective units. This works well until they inquire on a BU/OBJ within Video Account Ledger Inquiry. At this stage, they can still only see their own account however if they were to drill down into a journal, they can now see other business units.

Am I missing something here?

Any constructive suggestions would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

Hi Malcolm Malcolm

You might want to do the security over F0911 and F0902 as well. When you
drill down into the journal, you are looking at F0911. I'm not sure what the
consequences will be with row security over *ALL files however I believe
there has been some discussion on this recently on this list.

Have a good Christmas, if I don't catch up with you before then.

Malcom,
Here's part of a response I received in Sept. '02 from Jennifer White, a JDE World Financial Consultant, regarding a similar question. "...There is a SAR added on A7.3 c13 on P09101 that will not allow the user to see any part of the journal entry that is secured by business unit security. If the document company does not include a business unit in range of accessible business units, it will not allow me to view any of the entry. If I enter a JE for my company and business unit, but other business units are included in the entry, it will just show the header and the lines that I have access to..." That SAR is 3288871, & it has a code change that you can test.

Thanks for your replies.

I'll look closer at the BU security and the SAR.
