Hi List,
Sceanario:
During the processing of work orders we would like to allow that certain work centres can be completed in different order (parallel) rather than sequentially but we want to avoid setting up subassemblies and processing separate WOs for the potentially parallel work.
Research:
So far we did not find anything in the JDE manuals or on the Knowledge Garden except that there is a routing field called "Next Operation" and JDE's "What's This" help describes this field as: "The operation number with which the current operation can be simultaneously processed." Sounds interesting but we entered operations in this field and JDE did not seem to behave any different!
Questions:
Is anybody using this "Next Operation" field on the Routing Instructions and is this a reference field only or is there logic based on the content of the field?
Does anybody have other ideas how to setup parallel routing steps?
Thanks for your time and have a great day!
Ingo.
