Weighted Avg Cost not recalc\'d by a P4116 Reclassify transaction

Running P4116 unmodified. We have combed thru all the documentation in
Knowledge Garden regarding weighted average cost and costing methods and
concluded that with our setup matching everything we see in the
documentation, WAC should be getting recalculated online when we run a
Reclassification, but the WAC for the "To" item does not change. We are
reclassifying an existing item into another existing item. We use
Item/Branch cost level 2 and have the system constants set to Update Costs
Online. The Sales/Inventory cost method for all items is 02 Weighted Avg
Cost. The production 40/AV UDC table is not identical to the shipped one
(in pristine) but does not contain any programs that do not show up in
pristine (it does contain P4116 w/description 2 set to 'Y').
Has anyone else used Reclassification this way? None of us was here when
this process was set up, and the KG documentation is fairly cryptic.
Any help/enlightenment would be greatly appreciated.
