Hi,

Has anyone installed Visual Studio 2005 SP1 (VC++) on Windows Server 2008 R2 ? I have been searching the Microsoft website but could not find any download link. The one I got was 2005 Express edition that does not support 2008 R2 and neither does Oracle support Express edition.

Also does it come with a 64bit version as well, which one do you use for JDE ?

Would appreciate if someone could give some info.

BR,
Jeff

I haven't installed that version. I have installed VS 2008 SP1 on Windows 2008 R2. However, VS 2005 SP1 is listed on the MTRs, so it should work.

In either case, you will be installing the 32-bit version of the software, as the JDE services are still 32-bit programs.

P.S. Forgot to mention, "Running Visual Studio C++ 2005 on Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2 will require a special service pack for Visual Studio 2005. Visit the Microsoft website for more information."

P.P.S. Another note on the MTRs states "Visual Studio Express Edition is not supported."
