Very strange problem with financial report

Hello everybody.

We are experiencing a very strange problem with a financial report.
The report is based on V8300001 business view. The smart fields Period Activity (B83000PA) and YC YTD Through Current Period (B83000YC) show data for the object 4100 which I could not find nether in F0006 or F0901 of F0902 tables. There is no any data for that object in those tables. I can not figure out where those smart field picking up values.

Any ideas will be very appreciated.

Are there accounts at a lower level of detail under your object account 4100? Try running the report with a level of detail 9 to see if the value shows up in another account.

I run that report with a level of details 9 and I've got data on 4100.348 but the report should not show them.

Does anybody know if annual close program R098201 has anything to do with that problem?

Hi Ray,

I have data for 4100.348 for level of detail 9, but when I run that report and in PO I specify level of details 7 the report shows the data for level of detail 9. And this is happening only with 4100, all the rest accounts are fine.

Any thoughts?

When you specify a level of detail of 7 you are telling the process to summarize (roll-up) everything below level 7 into level 7. I'll try to give you an example.

Account Number - Level of Detail - Amount

4000 ----------------- 6
4100 ----------------- 7
4100.100 ------------- 8
4100.167 ------------- 9
4100.200 ------------- 8
4100.222 ------------- 9
4100.300 ------------- 8
4100.348 ------------- 9 --------- 100.00
4200 ----------------- 7
4200.100 ------------- 8
4200.188 ------------- 9 --------- 200.00
4200.200 ------------- 8
4200.251 ------------- 9 --------- 200.00
4200.300 ------------- 8
4200.315 ------------- 9 --------- 200.00

If you run a report for the data above at level 6, account 4000 will have 700.00.

If you run it at level 7, account 4100 will have 100.00 and account 4200 will have 600.00.

If you run it at level 8, account 4100.300 will have 100.00, account 4200.100 will have 200.00, account 4200.200 will have 200.00 and account 4200.300 will have 200.00.

While you can enter data at any level, troubleshooting errors can get very confusing. Our company policy is to enter data only at the base (lowest) level. We set all roll-up accounts to non-posting.

I hope this helps you better understand what is happening.
