Hi List,
I am new to User Defined Depreciation (UDD). In OneWorld, I am trying to come up with the correct UDD formulas (stored in F12853) for the disposal year (life year 999 through 999) for assets that have the following setup:
1. Initial Term Apportionment Code = M = Mid-Month Convention
Depreciation Method = 13 = MACRS Alternative Depreciation
Compute Direction = I = Inception to Date
Ledger Type = D1
Depreciation is calculated once per year.
PeopleSoft gave me the following “untested” formula, but it doesn’t work:
(10/03)*(06-12) with a 0.5 multiplier/constant
translates to:
(Basis/Asset Life Periods)*(Asset Life Periods Current Year-Multiplier Constant)
In the disposal year, depreciation should be equal to a full period of depreciation for each period including the disposal period, less half a period depreciation. The formula PeopleSoft gave me, and any formula I try to come up with calculates depreciation for all 12 periods; it doesn't seem to take into consideration the disposal date.
2. Initial Term Apportionment Code = Y = Mid-Year Convention
Depreciation Method = 13 = MACRS Alternative Depreciation
Compute Direction = I = Inception to Date
Ledger Type = D1
Depreciation is calculated once per year.
PeopleSoft gave me the following formula, which appears to work:
((10/03)*49)*11 with a 0.5 multiplier
translates to:
(((Basis/Asset Life Periods)*Normal Number of Periods)*Annual Rule Multipler
Is anyone else using this formula and/or is this correct?
I’d appreciate any help with the proper formulas. Thanks.
