Upragde Concern

Everyone,

We are on Xe B7334 and with the Oracle support we are thinking of staying that way for next couple of year till we think there is a path of Xe to Fusion migration. I would like to have your thoughts on this migration decision. Your input would be very vaulable for us.

From what I know - I don't think Oracle is planning on a upgrade path from Xe to Fusion. It will have to be an upgrade to 8.10 or 8.11 (or 8.12 if you wait for a while) and then to Fusion.

At the User Conference in Grapevine, TX, Oracle Senior VPs mentioned that they were looking for a way to upgrade from XE to Fusion. The Oracle Upgrade Consortium is a great source of information. They just passed off the Consortium to Quest (questdirect.org) so you might want to sign up for the user group and participate in the calls. I would raise the question directly with the Oracle reps on the calls. If you have no great need for functionality in 8.10 or 8.11, then stay with XE and see how things progress.
