Uploading JE from PC file

We used to have someone here that knew how to do this but they have since
left so I'm calling on the list.
We know how to upload from a prn file into F09112 member file and then into
F0911z1. The problem is that the prn file contains many records each with a
different GL and SvcTax date and when they make it into the F0911z1 they all
have the same GL date with different SvcTax dates.
Does anyone know how to get the conversion to create the records with
different GL and SvcTax dates?

Nichelle,

I don't have access to JDE at the moment but (from memory) you
should check the mapping DWV to make sure G/L and Service dates are defined. You should also check the DWV processing options for the process that actually takes the F09112 to create the F0911Z1 -from memory again it has a processing option that enables you nominate a date - I think this overrides what is in the mapping definition.

Let me know what's happening and if you still have a problem then let me know and I will check in detail when I have access to JDE again (tomorrow or the next day)

Thanks for responding. The mapping pgm P09110map DOES have the gl and
svctax date positions defined and the conversion pgm P09110 DOES NOT have an
overriding gl date defined. When the data makes it to F0911z1 all of the
records end up with the same gl date with different service dates. Each
record should have a different gl date with a service date the same as the
gl date. Any other help you can provide will be appreciated.

Nichelle. We upload tons of JE's through this function (menu G09311). We found that the journal entry conversion program (P09110) only allows one G/L date per item in the processing options Not sure if you're using it in a different way to us though. On Menu G09311 Option 2. Journal Entry Field Mapping
36. G/L Date - Day........ DGD 2
37. G/L Date - Month...... DGM 2
38. G/L Date - Year....... DGY 2
39. Serv/Tax Date - Day... DSVD 2
40. Serv/Tax Date - Month. DSVM 2
41. Serv/Tax Date - Year.. DSVY 2
Put what you want the dates to be here. And put no date in processing option
for 3. Journal Entry Conversion program.

The response from "teven_lawrence" has jogged my memory. About 18 months
ago a remember hitting a problem like this but we were in a hurry so each
set of journals with the same date were uploaded separately. This overcame
the immediate problem and I never got back to looking into it in more
detail, sorry.

Thanks. I've got some queries out in the local community of JDE users here
and will let the list know if I find anything out. In the mean time if
anyone else thinks of anything I would appreciate a response. This is a
monthly process for us so we have a few weeks to keep looking for a
solution. To reiterate the mapping pgm does have the correct location of
the gl date and svc tax dates defined and there is not a gl date in proc opt
#3 of the conversion pgm.
In response to whoever mentioned the period was also on the record is
correct but we need this data to have different gl dates. Don't ask me why
I am not an accounting type, I'm an IT type.

Is it possible that your former employee used SQL to copy the SvcTax Date
into the GL date on each record?

No she didn't have that capability, but if all else fails that is an idea.

I think I may have figured it out, sometimes I just get lucky. We have only
run 1 test at this point and it certainly appeared to work, but once does
not make a habit. This is just a once a month process so I have to wait a
few weeks before we run it in production again but here is what I did.
In the PC upload file I added the period and fiscal year fields that
correspond to the gl date, changed the mapping version to include the pn and
fy and when all was said and done the records in F0911 all had different GL
dates and the corresponding SvcTax date matched the GL date.
When we run it in production if we don't get the same results I will let you
know.
