UNICODE vs. ANSI

We are trying to output to a flat text file for ACH purposes. OW creates a text file encoded in UNICODE instead of ANSI. Our bank requires this file to be in ANSI. Does anyone know how to force OW to create an output file in ANSI format, other than opening this .txt file with Notepad and saving it as ANSI (we would like to avoid this step if possible.) We are using ExporttoFlatFile BF, B0500025 to create and output to our flat file.

Any help would be much appreciated on this matter.

Will Kaufman.

Will,

Check out app P93081. All flat file encoding in Unicode versions is done based on setup in this app. While I don't know the meanings of the available options, we used CP1250 and that works for a Unicode to ASCII conversion. You'll notice you can set up by user/user group and report/version.

Good luck.

Hi Jeremy,

Is there any documentation or white paper or help about P93081 application and/or about this functionality?

Regards,

Zoltán

Hi Zoltan,

The documentation exists in the Peoplebooks documentation that comes with the unicode releases of the software. I believe it is listed under 'Flat File encoding'.
