All,
Have a client:
Win 2000 Enterprise Server
SQL Server 2000
Xe, SP17
Client is trying to lock down security. Did all the usual, i.e. JDE account, SA on database, etc. Looking good so far.
He noticed that if a user links a database to MS Access on his local fat client the user can just select "Use Trusted Connection" on the ODBC connection and gets right in.
How do we lock this down. Doesn't seem like we are doing much good locking down everything on the front end and any user on the NT Domain can come in from the back and connect to databases/tables.
Any Suggestions?
