Terminal Sever Hack

Hi
Can anyone remember the hack that allows development on the TSE.

Thanks
Kieran

Hi Kieran,

I've never attempted this myself since it's SUCH a BAD idea but if I
remember correctly you have to create a OWDEVELOPER group on the terminal
server and then add your developers into that group. Then they should have
access to the Developer commands. I don't recall any other steps but like
I said... I've never done this. Do you want to run UBE's locally on your
Ctirix box too? There's apparently a hack for that too.

Bear in mind that there are only one set of installed specs and if they get
corrupted everyone on the box pays the price.

Good luck... You just might need it.

G.

It depends on what SP and release you're on. If it's Xe and SP 15 and later, look at SAR 5123173.

We had to do it because Citrix users can't delete, check in and check out versions. This created extra work for OW support team. We ended up deleting, check in/out versions for them when we had better things to do.

The OWDEVELOPER group doesnot work for SP 15 and onwards. Instead the jde.ini needs to be change.

What is the change that needs to be made to the INI? We have the same
issue here, I'm currently the "Version Deleter" for a project lead.

I just needed to check out an object to see if it was a problem with the
TSE(package install) or the pathcode. Looks like the BSFN thats erroring
has being modified and doesnt work on our new apps server but works OK on
the AS400.

Cheers
Kieran

In jde.ini under [Debug] Section, insert "OWDEVELOPER = TRUE".
