Sun Identity Manager

Hi List,

And the forever pain SOX bites us again. Per a corporate directive, we need to integrate all our application user id provisioning through Sun Identity manager. Although, I know that the Sun application cannot directly create a user id by accessing the database, I am assuming this can be done through usage of API's.

Just wanted to know if someone has done or tried this before.

Thanks in advance,

Regards
Yogesh

Why create IDs into the database?
The newer JDE releases have built-in LDAP support. It is rather clumsy but it is there. With or without the portal components, you can always use LDAP for authentication to JDE. There are many ways you can build single-sign-on.
Note that not everything can be in LDAP (I think user-role relationships and other stuff still needs to remain in the JDE tables) but JDE supports standard LDAP applications.
I haven't checked about SunOne specifically, but OID, Domino, Active Directory are on the list for sure, there is no reason for Sun not to be.
So, you can ask them for an upgrade to 8.11 and 8.95...
