Sales Order Entry

When entering sales orders in SOE is it possible to lock the unit price and extended price field from entry as we have the advanced pricing system managing the input plus additional calculations. If one enters the price the adjustments don't calculate.

The plan is to use the price history to enter the price when it is different from the price provided (exceptions).

Is it possible to lock out price entry in sales order and still be able to use price history to make the adjustment? Does this need to be completed through security or is there something in the processing options?

If you are wanting to force your users to enter manual prices only in the
Price History Window, because you don't want to lose other Price Adjustments
you are taking exactly the right approach.

There are processing options, plus a line type flag to protect or even not
display the price.

Most clients use the processing options in Sales Order Entry to accomplish
this.

However, if you enter any manual charges in order entry such as Freight
Charges, you may wish to protect S line types vs. not protecting F line
types.

If you change your Line Type to "Protect Price on Sales Order" it will
protect the Unit Price on the SO Grid, but still allow you to add/change the
price adjustments in the history screen (depending on the individual Price
Adjustment Definition "Manual Add/Change" setting).

Yes, this is possible.

Lock the price during sales order entry (processing option), next add an adjustment to your advanced pricing schedule in which you allow to enter a price manually.
This allows you to override the sales price, from the price history window, while still having all adjustments in effect.

Works great.
