I have a report R09410 that I just need to use a new business view for data selection purposes. I created a new businness view "V5609410" copied R09410 to R5609410 and went into design and changed the business view and the event rules validated ok; but when I run it I get garbage. Is there something more that needs to be done or can it be done that way without re-selecting the fields to be put on the report??? Please Help - Thanks Bobby

IMHO, changing the bsvw on an existing section is fraught with peril and
should be avoided at all costs. I've seen instances where even though there
are no longer any references to the old bsvw in the UBE and the UBE runs and
produces valid results, errors referencing that bsvw have shown up in the
jde.log. (I worked with JDE tech support several weeks and they couldn't
figure out how it was happening either).

Normally we either modify the existing bsvw, or we rebuild a new section
with the new bsvw to do the same thing.

However, if you do try, you do need to re-associate all of your ER.

Here's my Vodoo approach for doing it:

1. Check everything in OMW including the business view.
2. Check out the business view.
3. Make the change to the business view.
4. Check the business view back in.
5. Log out of OneWorld.
6. Reboot you client.
7. Log back into OW.
8. Check out the business view.
9. Check out the UBE and version.
10. Hopefully when you start to work on the section driven by the updated business
view in question the changes will be there.

I told you it was Vodoo!!

And somethmes this works, but as eydeak responded below , I always get butterflies
why I realize that this is what needs to be done.

Good luck.
