Re: FRW creating =?iso-8859-1?Q?JE=B4s?=

Since you are using a financial reporting tool that creates any output
(print) line at a 'break' it has already loaded into the BC the
values of the 'new record' (the record that caused the level break to
occur). So, if you are using a BC value to define the MCUS it
would indeed be the MCUS for the record that was just loaded.

Hope that is helpful.

| Subject: FRW creating JE´s |
>------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|

We have a problem with financial reports, creating JE´s.
At the moment we are implementing Oneworld XE and uptil now World-software
is used.
We are now developing financial reports in OW, based on the
FASTR-definitions.
A functionality which is very often used, is the creation of journal
entries.
In Financial Report Writer, we use the smart field FINRPTJE and in the
definition of this smart field we define that the 'subsequent business
unit" ( on tab JE report result BU) should be retreived as part of the
account number in the JE. (with definition *S)
When running the report, there are indeed JE's created, however, with the
wrong MCU in the account number.

Our definition of the "subsequent business unit" is that the value of the
field MCUS in F0006 should be retrieved from the BSVW Business Unit.
This is also how FASTR in World-software functions.
However, the interpretation of "subsequent business unit"of JDE in OW is
different and in our opinion wrong.
As also de!
scribed in KG document OFN-02-0077, the 'subsequent business unit" is
retrieved from the next record read in the report.
This makes no sense at all.

Has anyone encountered the same issue; strange enough we cannot find any
issues on JDE´s KG.[

Re: FRW creating =?iso-8859-1?Q?JE=B4s?=

Diana,

Thanks for your input.
I'm aware that in a financial report (=tabular section) indeed the next record is already loaded at 'break'.
My problem is that the functionality from World-software tools (FASTR) is not available in Oneworld FW, although JDE promised it was.
My fear is that this functionality is not available, simply because of the fact that the technique in FRW doesn't allow it.
I've logged this issue at JDE, but uptil now received no accurate respons.

This issue has been fixed by J.D. Edwards. The SAR number is 6705589. Hopefully it will be available for download through ESU very soon! Good luck.
