R47002C Flat File Conversion Question

Sorry if this is discussed before.
R47002C Flat file conversion has a processing option for Text qualifier. Is this mandatory ?? Can I not specify text qualifier at all.

what kind of flat file ur using for the conversion? is it a text file , CSV or some other kind ??

I think this option is mandatory .So you must set field qualifier.
