I am aware that the Manual says run this program but I am a little unsure. The second mention in the Book refers to resetting Simulated from Frozen in P30026 which does appear to be the main function of the "Reset Simulated Costs" Program.
Either this is erroneous and they are actually referring to R30812 and R308235 OR they imply that you need to set the X Cost Components in the Frozen field and roll them into Simulated. Which seems a little unorthodox if not impossible! I suggest you experiment. If R30850 doesn't do what the book says then it could be a typo mistake in the book.
The White Paper I have for Xe actually says use the R30835. This is a JDE White Paper called "Actual Cost Setup for Xe".
